Museum Village is open by reservation from 10am – 2 pm on weekdays for school and tour groups. A half dozen or more buildings are staffed with costumed interpreters demonstrating crafts and trades of the 19th century. Click here for School Programs. The general public is welcome when the museum is open for a group. For schedule information call 845-782-8248.
$5 for general public, access to some buildings may be limited by school programs.
Members free
On weekends in May and June the museum is open from 12-5, with tours at 12:30 and 2:30. We also have special events on weekends. ClickSpecial Events for schedule.
Summer Hours July 6 - August 31
Open Tuesday-Sunday 11-6 with tours by a costumed interpreter at 12:30, 2, and 3:30. CLOSED MONDAY. Tours include a visit to the schoolhouse and log cabin as well as candle making and other buildings. Some buildings are only open during tours. Crafts and trades (blacksmithing, weaving) are generally scheduled in the summer onlyduring special events. Click Special Events for schedule.

The buildings and grounds that create our 19th century atmosphere may present barriers for visitors with disabilities. We are working hard to provide easy access where possible and to tailor our presentations and demonstrations to the needs of all our visitors.
DIRECTIONS
Museum Village is located 50 miles north of the George Washington Bridge on Route 17M in Monroe, New York near the Intersection of two major highways - Route 17 (future Interstate 86) and Interstate 87 (New York State Thruway).
From New York City:
By Bus:
Coach Bus Lines offers direct service from Port Authority to Monroe Park & Ride, right next to the Museum. Click here for schedule and fare information.
By Car:
Take the NYS Thruway north to Exit 16 (Harriman, Route 17). Take Route 17 west 4 miles to exit 129 (Museum Village Road). Turn left at the end of the exit ramp. Turn left onto Museum Village Road. Turn left again at Route 17M. Parking lot is on your left.
From Connecticut:
Take I-84 West to Exit 4, Route 17 East. Take Exit 129 off Route 17 East. Turn right at end of exit ramp. Turn left at Rt 17M. Parking lot is on the left.
From New Jersey:
Take I-287 North to NYS Thruway (87) North to Exit 16, to Route 17 West. Take Exit 129 off Route 17 West and follow directions from NYC. Or take the Garden State Parkway to the NYS Thruway (87) and follow as above.
From Pennsylvania:
Take I-84 east to Route 17 east Take exit 129 off Route 17 and follow signs for the Museum.

For the Safety and Comfort of All:
- Smoking is not permitted in any of the buildings or on the Museum grounds.
- Pets are not allowed on Museum grounds. Certified service dogs are welcome.
- No eating, drinking, or gum chewing is permitted in the buildings.
Photography/Videotaping
Photography at Museum Village is permitted for personal use only(please, no tripods). Please do not interrupt an ongoing activity. During your visit, authorized photographers or videographers from the Museum may record your image to be used for publicity purposes
Food Service
During special events, Museum Village offers a snack bar with a variety of choices. We offer quick, lunchtime fare with a selection of soft drinks, snacks, ice cream and coffee. Outside food and beverages are always allowed. Indoor and outdoor picnic tables are available for our guests to enjoy their refreshments.
